WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

We are seeking an energetic, motivated, and accomplished business development executive to lead our significant growth plans in the third-party collection agency space. In this role, 75% of your time will be dedicated to bringing in new clients and building relationships, while 25% will involve identifying potential debt portfolios for purchase. The ideal candidate will have a strong sales background, sourcing and closing deals across a variety of industry verticals such as FinTech (consumer & commercial), auto, elective medical, mortgages (1st, 2nd & HELOC’s), private student loans and commercial business to business loans. This is an individual contributor role that will not initially be leading a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Acquisition (75%): Identify and secure new clients for the agency’s suite of debt collection services. Develop and maintain relationships with key decision-makers in potential client organizations.
  • Debt Buying (25%): Identify, evaluate, and help negotiate the purchase of debt portfolios. Collaborate with the internal team to assess the value and risks associated with potential debt acquisitions.
  • Sales Strategy: Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve company revenue goals by acquiring new clients for third party collections outsourcing. Regularly report on sales performance and market trends to senior management.
  • Networking: Attend industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to promote the agency’s services and expand the client base. Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations.
  • Travel: Travel to meet with potential clients, attend industry events, and explore debt-buying opportunities as required.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the operations team to ensure smooth onboarding of new clients and effective management of acquired debt portfolios.
  • Reporting: Maintain accurate records of sales activities, client interactions, and pipeline opportunities using CRM software.


WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:

  • Experience: MUST HAVE 3-5 years of sales experience in the debt collection industry: collections, legal collections, bankruptcy collections and/or debt acquisition.
  • Skills: Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills. Ability to identify and assess business opportunities.
  • Knowledge: Understanding of the debt collection industry, including regulations and best practices, is a plus.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events.
